Dick’s in Federal Way never misses. The burgers are simple, hot, and consistent every single time. No gimmicks — just a fresh, juicy cheeseburger, crispy fries, and a thick shake that hits exactly how you want it to.
One of my favorite traditions is driving south after Seattle Mariners games and stopping here on the way home. There’s something about rolling in after a night at the ballpark, still talking about the game, and grabbing a late burger that just feels right. It’s fast, affordable, and always satisfying.
The staff keeps the line moving, even when it’s packed, and the quality never drops. If you want classic Seattle comfort food without the hype, this is it.

Arrived at SeaTac in the evening, didn't know the area, stopped by here as it was on the way to our lodging. The burgers are really tasty! I wasn't crazy about the tartar sauce - too sweet for my taste, but that's because I've recently eliminated sugar from my diet, so that's on me, not the restaurant. The fries were to die for, crispy and super flavorful. We were in and out in under 15 minutes, service is fast and friendly. Better than your average fast food place!

Dick's Drive-In is a classic walk-up burger spot that keeps things simple and affordable. The prices are great, the food comes out fast, and it’s an easy place to stop when you want a quick burger without spending a ton.
The burgers are flavorful and satisfying without being overly complicated. It’s just good, straightforward burger stand food done right.
The fries are made from fresh potatoes, which is great, but they’re usually on the softer side rather than super crispy. If you’re expecting crunchy fast-food fries, these are a little different, but they still taste good and feel more homemade.
Overall, it’s a great local spot for a quick, inexpensive meal. And honestly, after eating here, some of the bigger burger chains make their burgers taste like frozen grocery store patties by comparison. Not mentioning any "In & Out" at all. 😂

Burgers and fries are amazing!!
If you’re craving a classic Pacific Northwest burger experience, Dick’s Drive-In in Federal Way absolutely delivers! 🍔✨ The burgers are fresh, simple, and packed with flavor—just the way a true drive-in burger should be. The fries are hot and crispy, and the milkshakes are the perfect treat to finish it off.
What I really love is the fast, friendly service and the nostalgic atmosphere that makes every visit feel fun and easy. Plus, you can’t beat the value for the quality you get. It’s a local favorite for a reason!
Whether you’re grabbing a quick bite after work or introducing someone to a Washington classic, Dick’s Drive-In is always a great choice. Highly recommend! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Dick’s Drive-In is one of those places that feels like part of growing up in the Seattle area. No matter which location you go to, the quality is consistent. The burgers taste the same, the fries are the same, the shakes are the same. That kind of consistency is rare, especially for a place that’s been around as long as Dick’s has.
What really stands out is the quality control. You know exactly what you’re getting every single time. It doesn’t matter if you’re at a location north or south of the city, late at night or during a busy rush, the food hits the same. It’s familiar, reliable, and honestly comforting. It’s the local taste a lot of us grew up with.
The menu is simple, and that’s part of the charm. You can’t customize your order, and somehow that works in their favor. Instead of overthinking it, you just pick something and enjoy it. Burgers, fries, and milkshakes. That’s it. And somehow, you can always find something that hits the spot.
The fries are classic Dick’s fries, soft, salty, and instantly recognizable. The milkshakes are thick and solid every time. The burgers are straightforward, no frills, but they always taste right. There’s something to be said for a place that doesn’t try to reinvent itself and still gets it right.
That said, it’s impossible not to notice how much prices have gone up. Seeing a Dick’s Deluxe at $5.75 is wild if you remember when they were just a couple bucks back in school. That definitely takes a second to process. At the same time, it’s hard to blame them when everything costs more these days. The economy is what it is, and they’ve still managed to keep quality and portions consistent.
Even with higher prices, I’ll keep going back. Dick’s Drive-In is popular for a reason. It’s fast, it’s good, and it’s familiar. It’s a local favorite that still delivers, decades later. And honestly, you never know who you might run into while you’re there. Seeing Macklemore or Sir Mix-A-Lot in line wouldn’t even be that surprising.

I used to stop at the Dick's by UW, and the food here is just as good. It isn't the best burger you will ever have, but it is nostalgic, decently delicious, and a good price.
The French fries on the other hand are fantastic. They are crispy, salty, and plentiful. Overall, the service is fast, the food is good, and the price isn't exorbitant. I plan to return.
